Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
— Colossians 3:16

At the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
— Philippians 2:10-11

WHAT ARE YOUR WORSHIP SERVICES LIKE?

Our public worship services are an open opportunity for all kinds of people from within our community to draw near to God even as God has promised to draw near to us when we come to him in faith. In every aspect of our gatherings, we endeavor to exalt our Savior Jesus Christ who’s death on the Cross has paid the full penalty for the sins of every person who will put their trust in him.

Through each of the various elements of our worship services, attenders are lovingly encouraged to:

  • be humbled as they marvel at the majesty of God’s glory,

  • rest in the immeasurable riches of God’s grace,

  • continually grow in their knowledge of and conformity to God’s truth,

  • and be spiritually equipped to walk out their faith as they live in God’s world.

At Covenant Grace, we are an “ordinary means of grace” church. This means that by conviction, we believe that God has appointed the means by which he calls his people both to draw near to him in worship and to receive his soul-saving and life-transforming grace. For this reason, we refuse to put our trust in worldly gimmicks or to rely upon the impotent gifts of men, (2 Cor. 4:1-6). Rather, we are confident that just as God has promised, he works mightily to bless, strengthen, encourage, and equip his beloved people through the Spirit-empowered ministries of his Word, the sacraments, and prayer. For a more detailed picture of the specific elements of our worship services, consider reading this article written by our pastor.

A question which many people wonder about when they come to a church for the first time is, “What should I wear?” When you visit Covenant Grace, you will notice a mixed variety of attire. Simply put, we want you to dress comfortably. The posture and condition of our heart before the Lord is what is most important. We endeavor to cultivate a warm, loving, inclusive and welcoming atmosphere, while also being spiritually reverent, respectful, and filled with awe at the majesty of God. This is my body, which is broken for you. Do this in remembrance of me.
— I Corinthians 11:24

WHEN DO YOU OBSERVE THE SACRAMENTS?

In accordance with the teaching of the Reformed tradition of the Christian Faith, we affirm the two sacraments given by our Lord in the New Testament which are Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

THE LORD’S SUPPER
It is our tradition to reverently observe the Lord’s Supper on the first Sunday of every month. To better understand who the Lord’s Supper is for, according to God’s Word, take a few minutes to watch this sermon or read through this helpful article by our pastor: “Who Is To Be Welcomed To the Lord’s Supper?”

BAPTISM
Baptisms also take place during our worship services as God brings new covenant children into the world, or new first-time believers into his household. To learn more about the beautiful sacrament of baptism, check out this sermon or read this article written by our pastor.

Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God.
— Mark 10:14

WHAT DO YOU HAVE FOR MY CHILDREN?

We believe that children have a very special and important place in the covenant community of God’s people. As a church, we joyfully embrace God’s call to shepherd and care for each and every member of our body, and that includes your children. For this reason, we have developed a gospel-centered, family-oriented, and disciple-making children’s ministry that we believe will help the children of our church grow up in the faith, knowing and loving Jesus Christ personally, from a very young age.

During our Sunday worship services, children are always welcome to stay in the entire worship service with their parents. However, for those families who desire, we provide a Covenant Kids ministry for children age 1-5. Little ones will worship right alongside their parents or caretakers until they are dismissed to their classroom shortly before the time of the sermon.

All of our children’s ministry volunteers are well-known to the Elders of our church, distinguished for their gentleness, love and Christian maturity, and have been carefully background checked prior to serving. For more information about our Covenant Kids ministry, click here.
